Sony has announced that two new PlayStation 3 Super Slim models–Azurite Blue and Garnet Red–will be releasing in Japan soon.

These new models will be available in “limited quantities” from February 28, priced at 24,980 yen. Each color features a 250GB hard drive and a red or blue Dualshock controller.

There’s been no word on a release outside of Japan for either at the moment. I doubt that a different color is going to convince players to upgrade their older models at this point in the console’s life cycle–only a serious power boost is going to do that.
