PlayStation 3 Super Slim Won’t be Announced at Gamescom, Features 16GB Flash Memory

The rumored new PlayStation 3 model will not be shown at Gamescom next month, according to a new report.
An inside source has told VG247 that the new system will feature a 16GB Flash drive for on-board storage, which could mean a significantly reduced RRP for the product. The PlayStation 3 Super Slim–as it is being referred to–or the PS3 4000–to give it a more official title–is yet to be announced by Sony.
The source also mentioned that the console will not be unveiled at Gamescom, as previous rumors suggested, however he/she failed to offer any sort of announcement window. If the console isn’t going to make it to Gamescom then the next possible time would be at the Tokyo Game Show in September.
