THE BUZZ: Sony has lifted the level cap for PlayStation 3 trophies. It was originally locked at level 50, a feat only a few people have managed to achieve.

If you plan on getting close to level 50 you will need over 10,000 trophies, however the few that have made it obviously complained loud enough, and Sony listened. Trophy hunter “Hakoom” was busy gloating about his new Level 55 ststus after the cap was lifted. He currently has 15,662 trophies.

EGM’s TAKE: This will effect less than 1% of PlayStation 3 owners, but it appears to mean a lot to those it does.
