THE BUZZ: The PlayStation 3 has turned five years old today in Europe.
The console launched in the U.K. on March 23 2007, alongside a number of launch titles including Resistance: Fall of Man, Virtua Fighter 5, Ridge Racer 7 and many more.
The console retailed for £425 at launch and managed to shift around 600,000 copies in the first two days across Europe.
EGM’s TAKE: Five years is a long time for a console generation, but with Sony touting a ten year plan we may only be at the half way stage. Just how much more does the PlayStation 3 have to give? Are developers already pushing its limits? Only time will tell.
