PlayStation 4 Development Was Underway Back in Mid-2010

According to one former Sony employee’s LinkedIn profile, work on the PlayStation 4 was underway as far back as mid-2010.
Former SCEA R&D director Attila Vass’s LinkedIn profile states that he was working on the “Graphics Library” and “Security” for the “next generation PlayStation” from August 2010 to April 2012. His work on the PlayStation Vita is listed separately, which suggests that the next-generation platform referred to is the PlayStation 4.
“I worked on graphics (COLLADA, PSGL) and a lot of network related technologies (advertising, telemetry, PVRs) for the Playstation2-x, PSP, Vita and Next Generation platforms,” said a now-removed summary statement on the profile.
Of course it’s not a shock that Sony has been working on its next generation console all these years, what is interesting though, is just how well it has kept it hidden. It’s been in development for over two years at least, if this profile is to be believed, and yet nobody truly knows anything about it outside Sony and a select few developers.
What are your hopes for the PlayStation 4?
