Capcom has announced that its PlayStation 4-exclusive, Deep Down, will be a free-to-play title, and that an open beta is planned for 2014.

Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida passed on the announcement from the Tokyo Game Show. According to Yoshida, an open beta will be held ”near the launch of PS4 in Japan,” which is February 22, 2014. No further details were offered.

Deep Down is set in 2094 New York and players will be able to access other people’s memories, according to the publisher. The game also features procedurally generated dungeons, random monsters and loot, and supports online co-op for up to four players.
