Sony Japan executive Masayasu Ito has suggested in a recent interview that a single launch title and a PlayStation Plus subscription will be enough to make the PlayStation 4 profitable.

As with all console launches, Sony will be selling the PlayStation 4 at a loss. Eurogamer has been informed by well-placed sources that the loss is around $60 on each unit, however Ito denied this when asked. A PlayStation Plus subscription and a launch title would easily recover that $60 loss. When pressed he stated that the company is expecting to turn a profit with the average users initial purchase–which will no doubt include those two items.

Last month Sony Computer Entertainment boss Andrew House said that he expects the launch-related losses of the PlayStation 4 to come in below those of PlayStation 3.

Earlier today Ito revealed at a Tokyo Game Show roundtable interview that the PlayStation Camera could be used to offer Kinect-style gesture-based navigation with post-launch firmware upgrades.

PlayStation 4 is set to release November 15 in North America, November 29 in Europe, and February 22, 2014 in Japan.
