The PlayStation 4 launched at midnight yesterday in the UK and is already “starting to sellout,” according to Sony.
The console became available at midnight on November 29, with people camping overnight for a chance to get a console. “We are starting to sell out – very rapidly but [we] will continue to work with all parts of the supply chain including our partners at retail to get more, as and when we can,” a Sony representative told the BBC.
The platform holder is facing “unprecedented” demand for the console, according to the representative, and is setting up a stock-tracker website to help people find a console before Christmas.
UK retailer Amazon has announced that customers who didn’t pre-order before November 13 will not receive their console before Christmas.
