Sony is set to add 3D Blu-ray support to PlayStation 4 next week with the release of system update 1.75, the company has announced.
“Coming next week: PS4 system software update 1.75 adds 3D Blu-ray film support. Woo-hoo,” Sony wrote on Twitter. Yesterday, update 1.74 was rolled out worldwide that simply improved overall software stability.
Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that it would be adding 3D Blu-ray support to Xbox One with its August system update, which is already in the hands of users who are in the update preview program.
Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida stated back in June that several PlayStation 4 features that were promised at launch are still in development, such as suspend and resume and the ability to take control of other players’ games to help them out.
