After months of speculation, rumors, and several heated arguments, it has finally been confirmed by Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida that the PlayStation 4 will not block used games. So let’s all take a deep breath and calm down, safe in the knowledge that the age-old pastime of buying pre-owned games will live on into the next generation.
Yoshida confirmed the news to Eurogamer when asked about the used games rumors. “Do you want us to do that?” he asked when questioned. “Yes. That’s the general expectation by consumers,” Yoshida added. “They purchase physical form, they want to use it everywhere, right? So that’s my expectation.”
Yoshida put a final confirmation on it by stating, “So, used games can play on PS4. How is that?”
