THE BUZZ: Sony has officially announced the much rumored PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

The PlayStation’s answer to Super Smash Bros is currently in development at SuperBot Entertainment, and pits characters from all PlayStation eras against one another. The game is due out Holiday 2012.

The first footage of the game can be found below, it reveals characters such as Sly (Sly Cooper), Kratos (God of War), Parappa (Parappa the Rapper), Sweet Tooth (Twisted Metal) and Fat Princess.

Levels from games such as Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Buzz and LittleBigPlanet are also featured in the trailer. Characters from different universes will also cross over in various levels, in the trailer you can see Hades from God of War fighting with some Patapons in the background.

EGM’s TAKE: If Sony was looking for an answer to Super Smash Bros then it seems to have found it with All-Stars. The graphics look smooth, the animations are fluid and the levels look amazing. SuperBot looks to have done themselves proud with this one. We just can’t wait to see more of this game in action. If PlayStation fans were hoping for a fun four-player game to enjoy this Holiday, then they have certainly found one. But will it enjoy the same success as Smash Bros?

Which other characters would you like to see added to the game? Let us know in the comments below.
