THE BUZZ: PlayStation firmware 4.01 has been spotted on the PlayStation press center in debug form.
EGM’s TAKE: Firmware 4.00 was released to the public around four months ago and was surprisingly underwhelming for such a major milestone, however maybe 4.01 will bring some new features to the table. However it stands, more of a chance that 4.01 will be used to add further Vita functionality before the handheld’s release. The important thing to remember is that this is only a debug update and may not even make it to the public, sometimes these updates are specific to debug consoles and are designed to make changes to backdoor functionality. We’ll have to wait for news on a public release of 4.01.
