PlayStation Home has always been sort of a curiosity, something that has never really felt like it reached the potential it could have. Whatever it was, however, it won’t be anymore, Sony announced today.
Arriving this Fall, the new revised PlayStation Home will feature “large-scale group games”, and the entire experience will be geared more toward playing social games with others. Home’s Central Plaza will be transformed into “a futuristic transit place” called The Hub, which will lead you to new districts that are focused around different gaming genres.
Announced so far will be the Action District (action, shooter, and horror games), Sportswalk (Sports), Adventure District (adventure and RPGs), and Pier Park (carnival and arcade games).
Sony will also be providing an update to the core client, which promised to give current Home visitors a “more streamlined experience”. Don’t worry, however – all of those virtual items an real estate you currently have aren’t going anywhere.
