PlayStation Mobile Now Live For Vita, Approved Android Mobile Devices

Posted on October 3, 2012 AT 03:30pm

Sony’s PlayStation Mobile service—a feature detailed at length during Gamescom 2012—is now live for the Vita and other approved devices, granting access to a backlog of games. ‘Hope you own an Xperia.

As reported by Engadget, the PlayStation Mobile store works for the Vita and a small number of “PlayStation Certified” Android devices, including three Sony tablets and a few HTC One handsets.

At a glance, the selection isn’t all that impressive, with the standouts in the list narrowing down to GrandiaWild ArmsTekkenWipeout, and Crash Bandicoot.

Then again, there are some particularly rare titles like Jumping FlashKula World, and Intelligent Qube available, so the options aren’t as bad as they could’ve been. Sony’s been making a push to sell much of the PlayStation 1′s library across their mobile devices, recently adding PSone Classics support to the PS Vita, with rather erratic update schedules.
