THE BUZZ: A few details have surfaced regarding the newest Pokemon games, Pokemon Black and White 2.
Pokemon Black and White 2 will be the first direct sequels in the franchise’s 15 year history. According to Japanese magazine Coro Coro Comics, players will be able to choose from two new boy and girl trainers to begin their journey with. The games will also feature a new rival and a secondary character named Akuroma, who is described as a mysterious figure researching Pokemon strengths.
Homika and Shizui have been named as two of the gym leaders. Homika battles with poison type Pokemon, while Shizui prefers water types.
Finally Black and White 2 will remain in the Isshu Region, however now players will begin their journey in Hiougi City, which is in the south of the region.
EGM’s TAKE: Many fans were slightly disappointed at the announcement of an actual Pokemon sequel, a lot of them believed that Nintendo would announce a third game in the Black and White set, like all previous franchise entries. However, this wasn’t the case. One major positive is that we get two new games a lot sooner than we would have if they were designed from the ground up. We wonder if any new Pokemon will be added besides the already announced new legendary Pokemon.
