THE BUZZ: Nintendo has released a new gameplay trailer for Pokemon Black and White 2 on Nintendo DS.

This latest trailer gives you a closer look at the game’s battle sequences, along with the new legendary Pokemon added to the game. The game will reportedly be out June 23 in Japan, there’s no word of a Western release.

EGM’s TAKE: Pokemon Black/White 2 are the first sequels in the franchise. This is a double-edged sword trying to keep fans happy. It means Nintendo can get a new game out much quicker than usual, plus the team knows the engine so it can increase quality. These are good things.

The bad part is this will be a very similar game with different environments, and it’s releasing on the DS and not Nintendo’s 3DS. Choosing not to release on their newest console could prove disastrous for Nintendo. A new Pokemon game would have been the perfect hardware seller.
