Pokemon Go

The previously announced Detective Pikachu event for Pokémon Go goes live today, offering players the chance to catch Detective Hat Pikachu. Between today and May 17th, players may be photobombed by a Pikachu wearing a detective hat while using the Snapshot feature.

In addition, Pokémon featured in the movie, such as Bulbasaur, Jigglypuff, Psyduck, Aipom, and Snubbull will appear more frequently in the world, and there’s a chance for Shiny Aipom to appear.

Players can also unlock special movie-themed items for their avatars, complete movie-inspired Field Research, get double XP for catching Pokémon, and take part in Raid Battles that feature Pokémon from the film.

“We’re excited for fans around the world to immerse themselves in the latest Pokémon adventure with Pokémon Detective Pikachu,” J.C. Smith, senior director of consumer marketing at The Pokémon Company International, said. “We look forward to celebrating the first live-action film with fun new experiences in Pokémon Go.”

Pokémon Go is available now on iOS and Android.
