Pokémon Go is bidding farewell to 2018 with the biggest community event the game has seen yet.
Over the past year, Niantic has held nearly a dozen community days. Each event revolved around a specific Pokémon, debuting each creature’s shiny form, giving each one a limited-time moveset, and offering players a chance to stock up on candy for the rarer creatures. Now, the final event of the year is bringing back every past community day Pokémon for one giant weekend-long event.
Players will be able to catch Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Eevee, Dratini, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Mareep, Larvitar, and Beldum during this event. These Pokémon will be able to learn their special community day moves, and their increased spawn frequency will give anyone who missed getting a shiny a second chance.
The event will run for much longer than usual, kicking off on Friday, November 30th at 1 p.m. PT and running all the way until 11 p.m. on Sunday, November 2nd. Different parts of the weekend will feature different bonuses. So far, we know that playing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. PT on Saturday, December 1st, will double XP and Stardust gained from catches, and players’ egg incubators will hatch eggs twice as quickly.
This event is a big one, and a perfect way to end the year for any players who missed one or more of the narrow event windows previously. If you’re looking for a shiny or a special move, this massive community day will be your best bet.
