The Pokémon Company has officially announced Pokemon Rumble Rush, a new entry in the Pokémon Rumble series for iOS and Android devices.

The “free-to-start” game puts players in control of an intrepid adventurer who has been tasked with discovering new islands and the Pokémon that inhabit them. Players will have to take on hordes of Pokémon while on the islands by sending their own Pokémon into battle and tapping the screen to attack. Occasionally some enemy Pokémon will befriend the player and can be used in future battles.

While exploring, players can also find hot air balloons. Tapping a balloon will let them visit an island that has been discovered by another player and potential encounter new Pokémon.

Pokémon Rumble Rush is available now on iOS and Android in Australia, and will be getting a worldwide release soon.
