We all knew that something big was going to be revealed during Nintendo’s latest live stream–especially seeing as president Satoru Iwata stated that it was being broadcast in seven languages simultaneously–and we were right! Nintendo has announced two new Pokemon games for the 3DS–Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.
Both games will launch worldwide in October–a first for the series. A debut trailer for the games was shown during the live stream which showcased the new 3D environments, new adventurers, and some new Pokemon–Chespin, Froakie, and Fennekin. The trailer also featured the game’s new 3D battle system, which looks simply stunning. At the end of the trailer we got a glimpse at X and Y‘s legendary Pokemon which appear to be a giant bird and deer.
I’m not going to lie, I’m more than a little excited for the series’ first steps into 3D–a move that should have happened with Black and White 2. Hopefully these two games can live up to the expectation that is going to be placed upon them once people see the trailer below.
