Nintendo has officially confirmed yesterday’s rumor by announcing that Mega Evolutions are coming to Pokémon X and Y.

Mega Evolution is a new transformation that certain Pokémon can undergo during battle, which changes their looks and statistics. Pokémon such as Mewtwo and Lucario can use this new power during battle if they are holding a Mega Stone.

The power only works during battle and after the Pokémon will return to its original form. Each Pokemon requires a unique Mega Stone to pull off a Mega Evolution, these stones are hidden throughout the region.
