Portal 2

Although Portal 2 characters GLaDOS and Wheatley are mere machines, their respective voice actors made both characters feel complex and human. Now, one talented animator has taken them a step further.

Artist enquaynay has crafted a couple of incredible videos based on Portal 2, taking scenes from the game and stylizing the characters in a unique interpretation.

Wheatley, originally a small orb-sharped A.I. drone, now looks the full part of a bumbling sidekick, complete with glasses, twitchy mannerisms, and exaggerated facial features.

GLaDOS is starkly different, a tall statuesque figure with a face that closely resembles her mechanical profile.

It’s extremely impressive to say the least (especially for hard-drawn animation), and the overall animation at work here definitely has a “Don Bluth” sort of look to it. There’s also a second bonus video, with pencil tests of Wheatley shown at later points in the story.
