Portal: No Escape, One Day Later

Posted on August 25, 2011 AT 12:41am

Yesterday I wrote an article about a YouTube short-film called Portal:No Escape, today I viewed the video and found something truly astonishing;

The views had SKYROCKETED from a few hundred when I viewed it to over 1 Million, having that many views in a 48 hour time-span is really un-heard of without promotion and after seeing the views I looked at the awards it had won …. all 20 of them:

- #8 – Most Discussed (This Month) – Film & Animation

- #7 – Most Discussed (Today)

- #2 – Most Discussed (Today) – Film & Animation

- #33 – Most Discussed (This Week)

- #3 – Most Discussed (This Week) – Film & Animation

- #68 – Top Favorited (All Time) – Film & Animation

- #7 – Top Favorited (This Month)

- Top Favorited (This Month) – Film & Animation

- #1 – Top Favorited (Today)

- #1 – Top Favorited (Today) – Film & Animation

- #2 – Top Favorited (This Week)

- #1 – Top Favorited (This Week) – Film & Animation

- #8 – Top Rated (This Month)

- #1 – Top Rated (This Month) – Film & Animation

- #1 – Top Rated (Today)

- #3 – Top Rated (This Week)

- #2 – Most Viewed (Today)

Seeing that many awards says something pretty impressive about the people behind the video.

So, the video has gone viral over a 48 hour time period, whats next? I am still crossing my fingers that,in reply to a message I put out, this isn’t the end for it.

For anyone who missed the video you can find it below.
