Arkane Studios took to the stage during Bethesda’s E3 Showcase to announce the Mooncrash DLC for Prey.
The DLC will take place on the Moon and sees players trying to escape a TranStar moon base with enemies, hazards, goals, and loot that will change with each run.
“With changing environments as dangerous as they are dynamic, multiple unlockable characters each with their own set of specialized and upgradable skills, and Typhon threats armed with a unique array of deadly characteristics, the Mooncrash campaign for Prey will offer a fun, infinitely replayable challenge to test even the most skilled players,” the developer explains.
As an added bonus, a free update is being released for Prey on all platforms that will introduce three new modes: Story Mode, Survival Mode, and New Game Plus. Story Mode lets players experience the game’s immersive narrative, Survival Mode offers hazards such as oxygen levels and bleeding, while New Game + gives players a whole new reason to return to the game.
Both Mooncrash and the update are available today on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
On top of all the above, another update will be released for Prey later this summer that will introduce a new multiplayer mode called Typhon Hunter. This new mode pits one player against five others who are taking the role of mimics.
Finally, Arkane Studios announced that it will be adding VR support for both Prey‘s single-player and the upcoming Typhon Hunter mode in the future.
