Professor Layton 3DS Trailer Wants You To Meet The Masked Gentleman
Posted on August 13, 2012 AT 01:42pm
Along with a large list of Nintendo 3DS, DS, and eShop announcements, a new trailer for Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask is here for you to enjoy, giving you a peak at the villainous tomfoolery afoot in the series’ first 3DS appearance. In particular, the trailer recaps the overall plot, plus a rather theatric appearance by the main antagonist.
Most interestingly, the footage provides another snippet of the improved interface, which has changed dramatically from the standard animation used in the DS titles.
Using an active 3D environment, players can now move, scroll, and search areas that are now rendering and moving in real-time, unlike previous Professor Layton games’ stop-motion look.
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask is out on October 28th, and will feature additional puzzles via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and the 3DS’ Spotpass utility. It’s been an extremely long time coming, as this was released in Japan as a 3DS launch title, becoming a best-seller right out of the gate.
