Professor Layton’s Miracle Mask Online Demo Is Delightfully Difficult

Nintendo UK has a pair of persnickety brain puzzles for you to figure out, pulled right from the gameplay of upcoming 3DS title Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. Are you up to the task?
In a surprisingly efficient set of demos, the flash-based website for the game has two complex puzzles that are posted within an interactive 3DSXL interface.
“Demo 1″ requires you to untangle a set of balloon by swapping tiles to fix the strings—but every wrong move gets the strings even more tangled. “Demo 2″ (the one that I could actually solve) involved rigging a series of slingshots in order to ring a bell, while simultaneously clearing the screen of obstacles.
Give both of them a try right here, and if you’re going to be honest about it, don’t use any hints—we wouldn’t want to make a habit of taking the easy route through the game before it’s out on October 28th, now would we?
