THE BUZZ: Activision has revealed that fans who pre-order Prototype 2 will receive a free upgrade to the Radnet Edition of the game, which offers 55 pieces of content for free.

This special edition will come with a one time use code that offers the extra content over a period of seven weeks. The bonuses include extra mutations, new challenges, avatar items and more. Players who take part in every weekly challenge will receive “the ultimate shape-shifting reward” at the end of the seven weeks. Details of the award will be revealed in March.

EGM’s TAKE: Limited Edition offers like these are a perfect way to increase pre-orders, however we’ve never seen a free deal on this scale before. 55 pieces of free content over seven weeks is an awful lot, although don’t expect all of them to be useful. You can’t really complain though considering it’s all free content. Many people will be planning on pre-ordering anyway due to how good the game looks, and as the developer basically took everything from the first game and improved it. Ultimately, the added bonus is just double the incentive.
