PS+ Subscribers Getting a Superb Swath of Free Games in November

Posted on October 31, 2013 AT 02:06pm

If you’re a subscriber to Sony’s PlayStation Plus service who always looks forward to hearing what free game’s they’ll be getting every month, November’s list has now been announced—and it’s a heck of roster of titles.

Of course, November marks the launch of the PlayStation 4, and if you’re a PS+ member who picks up Sony’s powerful new hardware at launch, you’ll have two free games waiting for you right from the start. Those games? The very cool looking side-scrolling shooter Resogun (from Housemarque, the team behind Super Stardust HD), and the unique and stylish indie platformer Contrast.

Over on the PlayStation 3, you’ll be getting three games in November, and they’re all titles that many players may have overlooked—but which are all definitely worth playing. First up is Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen from Capcom, the expanded version of their sleeper hit open-world fantasy RPG Dragon’s Dogma. Now, I had a few major issues with the game—its Pawn system, where you hire AI-controlled teammates to help you in battle, could really do with an overhaul—but the overall experience was often not only pretty fantastic, but an excellent template for where games in the genre could (and should) go in the future.

Next we get another under-appreciated cult classic from Japan: Sega’s Binary Domain. I’ve not tried this one myself just yet, but I’ve always wanted to, so getting the chance to do so for free thanks to PS+ is a gift horse I certainly won’t look in the mouth. Finally, when you need a break from the epic adventures of those two titles, you’ll have ibb & obb, a quirky and colorful 2-player cooperative puzzle game.

Finally, Vita owes will be receiving the Keiji Inafune-designed action adventure project Soul Sacrifice, and the Vita version of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD.

What do you think of Sony’s free game offerings for North American PlayStation Plus subscribers  for November? Let us know in the comments below!
