Sony has put the kibosh on PS3/Vita action-RPG Warrior’s Lair (originally known as Ruin), the company informed IGN.

“Sony Computer Entertainment can confirm that Warrior’s Lair for PS Vita is no longer in development,” a Sony rep told IGN. “We apologize to those who pre-ordered the title and ask that they contact their retailer directly to cancel their pre-sale.”

Sony also confirmed the cancelation of the PS3 version.

Warrior’s Lair began its life as Ruin when it was being developed by Idol Minds, before gaining a name change when SCE San Diego—the studio behind MLB: The Show—took over the project. The title was shown at E3 2011, where its Cross-Play functionality was emphasized (a time when that feature was new).
