PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

The seemingly unstoppable PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is on track to hit Xbox One via Xbox Game Preview this holiday season, according to Aaron Greenberg, head of Xbox games and marketing at Microsoft.

Greenberg shared the news in a tweet congratulating developer Bluehole Studio for recently hitting more than 2 million concurrent players on Steam.

In other news, Battlegrounds was recently rated in Australia (via VG24/7) under the even longer name of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: The Ultimate Life and Death Fight.

Earlier this month, reports from anonymous sources claimed that Microsoft is currently in talks with Bluehole to keep Battlegrounds as an Xbox One exclusive until at least mid-2018. These reports followed comments by the developer saying that it is currently in talks with Sony about bringing the game to PlayStation 4.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now on PC via Steam Early Access, with an official launch scheduled for later this year.
