Update 2/16/2016: The pre-order listing for Dark Souls III has officially returned, and a blog post from Xbox spokesperson Major Nelson confirms that prepurchasing a digital copy of From Software’s next game will allow players to access the original Dark Souls for free through the Xbox One’s backward compatibility feature.

Original story: A Microsoft slip-up has revealed that a digital pre-order of Dark Souls III on Xbox One will grant owners a free copy of the original Dark Souls.

The Australian Xbox store briefly featured a digital pre-order page for the upcoming From Software sequel describing a special offer that grants buyers a copy of the original Dark Souls, complete with backward compatibility support on Xbox One. Kotaku managed to screenshot the listing before it was removed. The listing did not specify whether or not the copy of Dark Souls would be the updated Prepare to Die Edition.

Thanks Kotaku

No official announcement regarding the pre-order bonus has followed from Microsoft, publisher Bandai Namco, nor developer From Software. Given Microsoft’s frequent additions to the Xbox One’s backward compatibility list, however, the eventual availability of Dark Souls shouldn’t surprise fans.

Dark Souls III launches April 12th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
