Rage

Rage 2 might have left me feeling slightly underwhelmed after my hands-on preview, but I can’t deny that the game’s got chutzpah, and it’s latest trailer really leans into the tongue-in-cheek humor I’ve come to expect.

Your character, Walker, is the last Ranger (har har) who has a bone to pick with the Authority after they raid his village and kill everyone in it. Driven by, well, rage—and the power of Nanotrite technology—Walker will become the Wasteland Superhero, at least according to the new trailer’s catchy, Saturday morning cartoons-inspired theme song.

There isn’t a ton of new gameplay in the trailer, but it does give us another chance to see enemies splatter in all kinds of fun ways. Highlights include using the Grav-Dart Launcher to stick an enemy to a windmill, or combining that with the Hyper Cannon to turn a bad guy into a meat-filled firework.

Rage 2 is launching on May 14th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Michael Goroff has been gaming for almost three decades. He's a lover of all games and systems, but he mostly plays Xbox. That being said, if he's a fanboy, he's a fanboy for the game industry as a whole. Spit white-hot fanboy hate at him, trash talk his Gold II rank on Rocket League, or maybe just send him a cordial hello on Twitter @gogogoroff.
