Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six

Ubisoft may be holding off the gameplay of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege‘s two new operators until next week’s Six Invitational event, but fans have been satiated with a preemptive breakdown of what to expect from our new Aussie friends.

In a post on the official Rainbow Six blog, Ubisoft revealed the backstories and gadgets of the two upcoming operators, Gridlock and Mozzie. Starting with Gridlock, this Attacker wields Trax Stingers as her gadget. Originally designed to stop vehicles, these modified traps will “add a new dimension to her team’s control of their surroundings.” As for the new Defender, Mozzie, his Pest gadget will “make the enemy think twice about their intel gathering strategies.”

Based on how they’re used in the following teaser trailer, and these descriptions, we can make an educated guess that Trax Stingers may be similar to spike strips, damaging anyone who passes through a hallway down which they’re deployed, while the Pest sounds like it could reveal the location of an enemy that looks through whatever camera it’s attached to.

The gameplay reveals of both Gridlock and Mozzie, as well as the new Outback map, will go down at the upcoming Six Invitational on February 17th. A balancing update is set to launch in tandem with the new operators, bringing notable changes to some of the community’s favorite characters.
