The second operator for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege‘s Operation Grim Sky expansion has been revealed, and he’s here to carry the torch for his team.
As detailed in the operator’s official Ubisoft blog post, he is an Attacker by the name of Maverick. After going M.I.A. on assignment, he spontaneously turned up two years later with a curious proficiency in wielding a blowtorch. He can use this unique tool to blow holes in metal surfaces, giving him sight lines into barricaded rooms.
A tease of Maverick’s background and unique skillset can be found in the character’s introduction trailer, posted to Ubisoft’s Twitter account.

Maverick will be joined in Operation Grim Sky by defense operator Clash. Clash is the first Defender in the entire game to sport a protective shield, which can additionally emit an electric shock that will stun and damage enemies who get too close.
Both Maverick and Clash will have their full gameplay reveals at the Six Major tournament in Paris, going down August 17th through August 19th. Viewers will also get to check out the map changes coming to the Hereford Base arena in the Grim Sky expansion, which were teased in an earlier trailer.
