The good news? Ubisoft announced today that their upcoming Rayman Legends would be getting Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 releases along with the already-announced Wii U version. The bad news? That Wii U release has been delayed in the process.
“We heard from many Xbox & Playstation owners and Rayman fans who told us they really wanted to play Rayman Legends on their current system”, said Ubisoft chief marketing & sales officer Geoffroy Sardin in his company’s announcement. “We decided to give the fans what they wanted while at the same time broadening the audience exposed to this innovative and memorable game.”
Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will now get that chance to experience Rayman Legends this coming September. Unfortunately, this news isn’t so good for Wii U owners eagerly awaiting fresh games to play on their new console. Rayman Legends was originally set for release on Nintendo’s latest home platform by March—however, as part of this announcement, the Wii U version of the game was also pushed back to September, in order to allow it a simultaneous launch with the Xbox 360 and PS3 version.
So, Wii U owners, if you’re now mad that Rayman Legends won’t be coming soon as you originally though, you now know who to blame: those greedy Xbox 360 and PS3 owners!
