Even though Rayman Legends will tread some very familiar ground when it releases for the Nintendo Wii U later this year, plenty of new wrinkles are going to make it one of the more unique platformers of the year. One more change is officially in the pipes for the game, too, with the addition of a bold new female lead character.
Ubisoft and the development team at Ubisoft Montepllier have just introduced “Barbara” to the mix, a rough-and-tumble viking lass who will serve as a new powerhouse team member in the crew.
As shown in the footage below, her strength is her best assets that she brings to the table, flinging a huge axe that cuts down most enemies in a single dashing blow or a string of combo attacks.
Check out Barbara’s debut trailer, complete with the some very appropriate heavy metal music and a highlight reel of her combat prowress. It’s probably too bad that the music here most likely won’t be the stirring background score that you’re going to hear every time you bring the viking warrior to battle, but that seems like nitpicking.
