Capcom’s E.X. Troopers Enlists Long-Time Resident Evil Staffer Yasuhiro Anpo

Capcom has an all-star cast behind the development of Lost Planet spinoff E.X. Troopers, and the directing lead is someone who’s been behind the scenes at the company for over 15 years.
Reporting from Capcom Japan’s “Game Jam” event this week, Siliconera provides word that E.X. Troopers will be directed by Yasuhiro Anpo, a software engineer whose work history goes all the way back to the very first Resident Evil. More recently, Anpo worked with the team behind Onimusha: Warlords, as well as up programming duties for the first Lost Planet.
Anpo’s role on the staff is the third among a number of high-profile members, including:
- Shintaro Kojima – Producer (Monster Hunter Tri, Monster Hunter Freedom 2, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite)
- Dai Sato – Writer (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eureka Seven)
Although this upcoming 3DS and PS3 game is infamous among the Capcom fan community for supposedly starting off as a Mega Man Legends 3 project (a conspiracy theory for which there’s very little conclusive proof), the development team definitely packs some heavy hitters.
