There is little to no chance of Red Dead Redemption 2 getting delayed again, according to Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick.
Speaking to CNBC’s Jim Cramer, Zelnick said “hand on heart, it’s October 26th,” when asked about the game’s release date. When pressed about the risk of putting a firm date on the game, he added that the entire team at Rockstar is committed to getting the game out by that date.
“That’s right. When I said ‘hand on heart’ it’s over one thousand people at Rockstar Games with their hands on their hearts,” Zelnick said.
For those who haven’t been following the tale of Red Dead Redemption 2, the game was originally given a fall 2017 release window before being pushed back to spring 2018 to give the development team more time. The game was later delayed a second time when Rockstar put an official release date of October 26th on it.
Earlier this month, Rockstar released a new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 that showed main protagonist Arthur Morgan and the Van Der Linde fleeing across the heartland of America.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches October 26th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. A PC version of the game has not been announced, but Take-Two has stated that the platform is “very, very important.”
