Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption 2‘s PlayStation 4 trophy list has reportedly leaked, and it gives us a few hints about what we can expect from the game when it launches in a little over two weeks.

A PSNProfiles forum member claimed to have recently received an early copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 and revealed every trophy that will be in the game at launch, providing screenshots as evidence. The forum member accurately leaked Assassin’s Creed Odyssey‘s trophy list early, as we independently confirmed, so there’s good reason to believe that this latest trophy list leak is legitimate.

Overall, Red Dead Redemption 2 will have 53 trophies (including the platinum trophy) at launch. Thirty-five trophies can be earned in the single-player portion of the game, and 17 will be specific to Red Dead Online, meaning players won’t be able to platinum the game until the multiplayer mode launches a month after the game.

Most of the trophies are pretty standard stuff, like completing story chapters and specific missions, but some of the trophies hint at more details about the gameplay. The “Gold Rush” trophy tasks players with earning 70 Gold Medals in story missions, which not only hints at the return of Grand Theft Auto V‘s mission rating system but also gives us a good idea of how many story missions there will be. The “Zoologist” trophy requires players to “study every animal across all states in Story Mode,” while “Skin Deep” requires players to “skin every species of animal in Story Mode.” Considering there are 200 species of animals in Red Dead Redemption 2, we’re surprised these trophies are only bronze.

One of the most interesting trophies, “Paying Respects,” asks players to “find the graves of each of your fallen companions.” It’s unclear whether these are members of the Van der Linde Gang that died before the events of the game or if you can actually lose gang members from your camp during the game.

The online trophies also give us some clues as to what we can expect from the multiplayer portion. Some of the trophies, like “Eventful” and “Gun For Hire” hint at free roam missions that can be found in the game’s world. You can also craft items and ammo in the game, as referenced in the achievements “Non-Regulation” and “Master Craftsman,” and bring hunted meat to the butcher as hinted at with another trophy. One of the most interesting trophies, “All’s Fair,” is earned when players “successfully counter a rival Posse’s Free Roam mission,” so it’s possible that players will be notified when a nearby posse is trying to complete a mission and will have the opportunity to interrupt that mission and potentially complete it themselves, which adds a good bit of tension to the online experience.

We’ll be able to confirm these trophies for ourselves when Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 26th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
