Grand Theft Auto

Can’t wait for Red Dead Redemption to arrive this fall? A new Grand Theft Auto V mod might be the perfect way to pass the time until then.

Called Red Dead Redemption V, the mod promises to port the full map from the original Red Dead Redemption for Xbox 360 into the Grand Theft Auto V engine, along with some added bonuses. As detailed in a post on the GTA Forums (via NeoGAF and Game Informer), Red Dead Redemption V has been in development for over two years, and already offers a fully playable version of the map along with some graphical upgrades above and beyond the original last-gen version. The team is also looking for people to help port over the Dead Eye aiming mechanic, animals, and vehicles, so there may be quite of bit of the Red Dead experience playable inside of GTA V at some point in the future.

So far, the team has only released a pair of screenshots, but they’re an impressive first glimpse at the mod:

.White Team has promised a teaser trailer soon, and a beta release is planned for some time this summer as an estimated 2GB download. Like all GTA V, Red Dead Redemption V will require a PC copy of the game to play. Taking it online will also require the use of a third-party client like FiveM or FiveReborn, support for both of which is planned.
