Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land has gone gold, and will launch on Nintendo 3DS October 29 in North America, publisher D3 announced.
Developed by WayForward Technologies—whose previous work includes A Boy and His Blob for Wii and DuckTales: Remastered more recently, and who are also developing another game based on a Cartoon Network property, Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW!—Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land features an original storyline and concept written by series creator J.G. Quintel.
Gameplay revolves around Mordecai and Rigby’s unique 8-bit abilities. At its core, the Regular Show game is a 2D side-scrolling platformer in which players can toggle between Mordecai and Rigby. There are also character-specific sections in which, as Mordecai, Regular Show becomes a side-scrolling shooter with Mordecai transformed into a fighter jet, and as Rigby the game becomes a top-down shooter a la Fester’s Quest.
Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land will be priced at $29.95 when it launches for 3DS on October 29.
