Destiny

Destiny‘s next expansion is called Rise of Iron, according to marketing materials posted to Reddit earlier today.

The leaked poster appears to show Lord Saladin, the NPC in charge of the Iron Banner event, wielding a flaming hammer, surrounded by wolves.

Rise of Iron

Two sources “familiar with Bungie” have since confirmed to Kotaku that the poster is genuine and that the expansion will include a new raid and will be bigger than both year-one DLC releases.

Expect to hear more about the expansion at E3 next month.

“The next point on the horizon is an update we’re cooking up for the Fall. I’ve seen it. I’m excited about it. I will say no more… For now,” community manager David Dague teased last month. “Hopefully, the ramp up to the April Update served up some proof that we love speaking at length about new Destiny content, once it arrives at its final form. Later on this summer, we’ll show you the scope, scale, and flavor for the next challenge you’ll face.”

Earlier today, Bungie announced that both Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner are on hold until a bug relating to rockets has been addressed.
