Update: Mojang has now officially confirmed that Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition will be getting a Blu-ray retail release on May 14 in PAL regions and May 16 in North America.
“It comes with all the features you’d expect from the console versions of Minecraft, along with everything that came with update 14, including Emeralds, Ender Chests, potatoes and more,” Mojang’s Owen Hill explained on the PlayStation Blog.

Original Story: The PlayStation 3 version of Minecraft is getting a Blu-ray release next month, according to an email sent out to PlayStation App users.
Some PlayStation App users have today received an email (via: NeoGAF) stating that a disc-based version of the game will be released on May 14. Currently the only way to purchase Minecraft on PS3 at retail is via a download code.
The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft launched last year and has constantly been in the charts ever since, so it’s no surprise that 4J Studios and Mojang would consider taking a similar route with the PS3 version.
PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions are also in the works, but neither has a release date at the moment.
