Report: Murdered: Soul Suspect developer Airtight Games has closed down [update: confirmed]

Posted on July 3, 2014 AT 03:00am

Update: Airtight Games has confirmed that it is closing its doors for good in a series of tweets. The developer thanked fans, family, friends, and colleagues, as well as those who had worked on its previous games before Murdered: Soul Suspect.

Original Store: Airtight Games, the developer of recently released supernatural thriller Murdered: Soul Suspect, has closed the doors of its Redmond headquarters less than a month after the game launched, according to Geekwire.

According to the site, the developer’s office space is currently shuttered, with a sign outside confirming the closure, and selling off its office equipment.

The company was founded in 2004 and has worked on games such as Dark Void, Quantum Conundrum, and Soul Fjord.

Company president Jim Deal recently confirmed to IGN that some members of staff had been laid off, but insisted it was part of the natural development cycle. ”Layoffs like this are regrettable but part of the natural ebb and flow of game production,” he said. “Airtight Games is actively seeking partners for exciting upcoming projects.”
