PlayStation Now, Sony’s game streaming service, may soon be getting a major new benefit, if the rumors turn out to be true.
PS Now lets players on PlayStation 4 and PC stream a large lineup of games over the Internet. While this works pretty well, it’s tough on users with slower internet speeds or caps on the amount of content they can stream. One fan on Reddit, however, has found a hint of a “download” feature that might soon appear in the game.
Reddit user Saterek posted a picture of a menu within PS Now with a new option to “Download Game.” While Saterek reported that choosing the option did nothing, it could be a hint at a feature to come, presumably letting fans download games in order to play locally without lag and without requiring a constant Internet connection.
Xbox Game Pass offers a similar feature, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility for Sony to offer something similar for PlayStation fans. Since the feature doesn’t seem to be working yet, though, we’ll have to wait and see if this option is something that Sony is indeed intending to release to everyone.
