Microsoft is preparing to release a major update for the Xbox One in March that will make some much-needed changes to the console’s party system, according to a new report.
The firmware update includes previously promised fixes for the console’s party chat system and will reorganize the Xbox One’s social features to make them more accessible. Both issues have been heavily criticized by users since the console’s launch back in November.
Details of this update first appeared on NeoGAF, but have since been backed up by The Verge’s own sources, who also claim that the white version of Microsoft’s Xbox One console will see a retail release later this year. The white Xbox One is currently an employee-only model that was given out to celebrate the launch of the console back in November.
The NeoGAF poster also claims that Microsoft will release a 1TB Xbox One model in November and that the company may also release a version of the Xbox One without a Blu-ray drive. The Verge‘s own sources also say that Microsoft has been testing versions of the console without a Blu-ray drive.
