Capcom has unveiled more gameplay from the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake.
During the recent Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong, Resident Evil 2 producer Tsuyoshi Kanda showed off 15 minutes of hands-on gameplay. While the footage mostly covers the previously revealed opening portion of Leon’s campaign, players can see more of the Raccoon City Police Department and its new layout. Check out the video below for the extended run.
The standout portion of new gameplay was Leon using the police security card to access to the gun locker. While it wasn’t a shock to see that Leon will get a shotgun during the early events of the game, it’s nice to know players will have it before their encounter with the first Licker, a famous bioweapon from the original entry. However, Capcom could also have the mutated amphibian popping up earlier than what’s been shown.
Players are guaranteed to be in for many surprises with the upcoming remake. The developer has already revealed many of the scares and iconic moments from the original have been altered to keep all players on their toes. There will also be a deeper narrative than season fans experienced in the 1998 survival horror game, as well as a more streamlined campaign structure.
Resident Evil 2 is set to launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on January 25th, 2019.
