Resident Evil 6 Demo – Two Month Release Gap Was a ‘Business Decision’

THE BUZZ: Capcom has stated that the reason the Resident Evil 6 demo is a two month Xbox 360 exclusive comes down to a “business decision.”
Capcom announced earlier this week that players who purchased Dragon’s Dogma would gain exclusive access to the Resident Evil 6 demo before anyone else, however the demo would be available two months earlier for fans who brought the game on Xbox 360. When asked the reason behind this the publisher simply replied with: “This was a strategic business decision.”
EGM’s TAKE: Could this have something to do with Capcom’s previous comments about trying to emulate Call of Duty’s success, publisher Activision also offers Xbox 360 players timed exclusivity over content. It seems weird that the firm would shun PlayStation 3 players by such a large amount. Maybe it simply comes down to money and Microsoft paid heavily for a timed exclusive on one of the most highly anticipated games of the year. There is another reason…….obviously Umbrella Corp has infiltrated Microsoft’s highest ranks and are preparing Xbox 360 players for the coming Zombie apocalypse and leaving PlayStation 3 owners to fend for themselves.
What do you think the reason could be? Let us know in the comments below.
