Resident Evil 6 Pre-order Mercenary Maps Detailed

THE BUZZ: Capcom has announced three exclusive pre-order bonus maps for Resident Evil 6′s Mercenary mode.

In Mercenaries Mode players battle through waves of enemies against the clock. The aim is to get as many points as possible by chaining kills together and seeking out hidden items.

In the U.S. Amazon, GameStop and Best Buy will each have an exclusive map for the game when you pre-order.

The Catacombs

Available exclusively at Gamestop with pre-order of Resident Evil 6: There are more than just enemies lurking in these catacombs. Be weary of booby traps ready to ensnare you around every corner! Are your reflexes quick enough to avoid them?

High Seas Fortress

Available exclusively at Amazon.com with pre-order of Resident Evil 6: An expansive stage that takes you from the deck of an aircraft carrier to the hangars inside. Engage in intense shoot-outs on the deck, but hone your martial arts skills inside the narrow confines of the hangers.

Rail Yard

Available exclusively at Best Buy with pre-order of Resident Evil 6: A multi-level stage in the steel and concrete confines of a railroad yard. Enemies are lurking everywhere, from inside the trains to the roof of the yard. You’ll have to stay on the move to stay alive!

There is no news on whether European fans will get their hands on these.

EGM’s TAKE: Don’t you just hate it when publishers and retailers do this to us? Three perfectly good and interesting looking maps and we have to choose one of them. It’s not really very fair. Out of the three Rail Yard seems the most creepy, so if you’re after that old school Resident Evil vibe we recommend you go with that one. It doesn’t really matter which one you pick because at some point after launch all three will be made available as paid for DLC, you can bet on that.

Which map will you choose? Let us know in the comments below.
