A new trailer was posted for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, showing off even more of the terrifying first person survival-horror game.
Posted on the franchise’s YouTube channel, the “Lantern” gameplay trailer follows the protagonist as she attempts to escape from her eerie, slow-walking, captor. Not much plot is revealed in the found footage?style gameplay, although the loud heartbeats and unsettling tones throughout excel at putting viewers on-edge. Unfortunately, overzealous tracking and an “old camera” filter take away from the overall immersion.
The plantation house shown appears to be the same one we saw at E3 and in the “Desolation” trailer, but we get to see some new rooms and areas, including one very creepy bridge covered in chicken-wire and dismembered dolls. (Please let those be dolls.)
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard releases on January 24th, 2017, for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
